The School of Communication offers a BS degree for the following concentrations: interpersonal/organizational communication; journalism; media studies; and public relations. A communication studies minor is offered as well. Since 2006, the SOC has offered the MA in communication, with an emphasis in health communication.
Current organizations open to students are: Communication Graduate Student Association (CGSA); National Broadcast Society (NBS) ECU Chapter; Public Relations Students Society of America (PRSSA), and Toastmasters at ECU.
Our Broadcast Journalism concentration is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation on Education-Portal.com's current list of "Top Universities for a Broadcast Journalism Major."
